The
Russian language is also called the Great Russian, a member of the
East Slavic group of the Slavic subfamily of the Indo-European
family of languages. Russian is spoken as a fast language by about
170 million people spoken by an additional 100 million as a second
language in the Commonwealth countries of Independent States (of the
former Soviet Union and of Eastern Europe.) Russian is one of the
languages of the world and officially used by the United Nations. It
is rich in scientific writing and many great literary works of
Russia also have made the language culturally significant.
Russian belongs to the Indo-European group of languages, and is
therefore related to Sanskrit, Greek, and Latin and the modern
Germanic, Romance, and Celtic languages, including English, French,
and Irish. Written examples of this are attested from the 10th
century onwards.
World Language Lab is a highly-equipped foreign language academy in
India which provides a perfect combination of overall knowledge of
the Russian language and culture. Classes are conducted as per the
student’s requirement and move from basic to an advanced level. One
can also do Diploma Degree and traveler’s courses including crash
courses, group can be arranged
Level I - Basic for beginners.
Course structure:
Structure of sound system and Russian language, with basic
fundamental vocabulary are taught. This includes understanding
speaking, reading & writing in Russian with tapes for pronunciation.
The Russian culture is studied along with questions and answers on
comprehension o simple text, along with simple descriptions from
day-today life situation, stimulated dialogues and role-playing.
On course completion the student will be able to:
Comprehend spoken language from vocabulary used in text.
Read and understand the language from material of the same level.
Recognize correct sound patterns.
Write exercises on correcting grammatical items studied.
Know the cultural elements of Russian societies.
Sustain a conversation within the framework of the vocabulary
studied
Duration: Two and half months.
Course eligibility: Knowledge of Russian level -1
Course structure:
Covering intermediate level of grammar, conversation, discussion,
essays, culture, civilization and business, the Russian language is
extensively used in class during discussions and role- playing. This
helps students to improve their fluency and speaking skills.
On course completion one will be confident to:
Use and understand Russian in the text.
Write with a wide vocabulary.
Read with improved ability.
Demonstrate a developing empathy for the Russian culture.
Form questions and answers based on familiar material.
Carry on an extended conversation using vocabulary studied.
Duration: Two months.
Level III - Advanced
Course eligibility: Knowledge of Russian Intermediate
Course structure:
With written comprehension, oral communication and expressions. It
also covers the advanced level of grammar, conversation, discussion,
essays, culture, civilization and business. The Russian language is
used extensively in class during discussions and role- playing thus
aiding the students to improve their fluency and speak correctly.
This offers continued practice in the basic skills of listening,
speaking, reading and writing. Opportunities are given to develop
individual interests in reading materials and cultural items. Short
stories, plays and essays, are brought to knowledge using a wide
vocabulary. Russian is used extensively in class during discussions
and role -playing.
On course completion one will be confident to:
Understand and use the language and vocabulary used in the text.
Speak, read and write with improved ability and a wide vocabulary.
Understand and be understood by a native speaker.
Translate from English to Russian and demonstrate grammatical
skills.
Acquire a deeper understanding of the Russian culture.
Formulate questions and answers based on unfamiliar material.
Engage in special Projects: Workbook, Project work and library
research.
Duration: Two months.
On the completion of each level and after attempting the test, the
students will get a certificate from World Language Lab.
