German Course

Deutsche Schrift (Goethe Script) - German comes from the west Germanic language family and has expanded its vocabulary with Greek, Latin and French words. English and German have many words in common. Ex Haus -House. German is a leading language of science, business, literature, philosophy, theology, history, music and art. Germans are connected with artists, composers, scientists and great thinkers and the knowledge of the German language and culture greatly enhance the overseas experience.

World Language Lab is one of the highly-equipped foreign language academies in India which provides a perfect combination of the German language and culture. Classes range from basic to advanced level and are suited to the students requirement. Courses range from diplomas, degree courses, traveler’s courses and crash courses with group and individual classes).

 

Level I - Basic Course
Course structure:


This covers fundamental vocabulary, structure of German, and the sound system, understanding, speaking, reading and writing in German. Audio & video are used to aid pronunciation besides the culture of the German-speaking people is taught. Besides this answering questions on comprehension of simple texts, simple descriptions from day-to- day life situations to stimulated dialogues and role-playing are also dealt with.

On course completion the student will be able to:

Comprehend the spoken language from vocabulary used in text.
Read and understand the language of the specific level.
Recognize correct sound patterns.

Write exercises manipulating grammatical items studied.
Know cultural elements of the German societies.
Carry on a conversation within the framework of the vocabulary studied.

Duration: Two and a half months.

Back to top Level II - Intermediate

Eligibility course: For those familiar with the basic level of the German language.

Course structure:

Covering the intermediate level of conversations, discussions, essays writing, culture, civilization and business. It extensively uses German during discussions and role play. This aids fluency improvement and correct speech.

On course completion one will be confident to:

Use and understand German in the text.
Write with a wide vocabulary.
Read with improved ability.
Demonstrate a developing empathy for the German culture.
Form questions and answers based on familiar material.
Carry on an extended conversation using vocabulary studied
Eng Engage in special Projects: workbook and library research.

Duration:
Two and half months.

Level III - Advanced

Course eligibility: For those who want to specialize in the language.
Course structure:

Covering written comprehension, oral communication and expressions, practice in the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing are highlights of this course. Developing individual interests in reading materials and cultural items. Short stories, plays, essays, are taught using wide vocabulary. German is used extensively in class during discussions and role -playing.

On completion the student will be guaranteed to:

Use and understand the language and vocabulary used in the text.
Speak, read and write with improved ability and wide vocabulary.
Understand and be understood by a native speakers.
Understand German used in the text and supplemental materials.
Translate from English to German while demonstrating grammatical skills.
Acquire a deeper understanding of the German culture..
Formulate questions and answers based on material read or discussed
Special Projects: Work book, library research, project work

Duration: Two and half months.
On completing the test of each level , the students get a certificate from World Language Lab.

Diploma Course Course eligibility: For those desiring higher education or job opportunities in Germany.
Course structure:

This course has two semesters, after the first the student can appear for the first level diploma test, and second level diploma test and other international exams after the second semester. Besides this also has world wide recognition.

On course completion the student will be guaranteed to:

Read German with high comprehension.

Write with increasing complexity with a wide vocabulary.
Converse in an extended conversation using vocabulary studied.

Understand German used in the text and supplemental materials.

Translate from English to German while demonstrating grammatical skills.
Acquire a greater understanding of the German culture..
Formulate questions and answers based on material read or discussed

Duration: First semester (3 months).
Duration: Second semester (3 months).
